The bride’s trousseau
The trousseau is brought by the groom's family and consists of a set of suitcases filled with essentials for the bride, her mother, her brothers, her guardian, her grandmother, and the rest of her family.

A tender rite of passage
Before the bride arrives, her in-laws offer a symbolic payment — a gesture marking the moment she leaves her family to join another, stepping into a new chapter with grace.
Her grandmother begins the henna ritual, followed by the women of her future family.
Once the ceremony ends, her in-laws quietly depart.
The bride remains, dancing and laughing with her closest friends and family — a nostalgic farewell to her girlhood.

Du’a and Tegal
The Islamic marriage contract
A sacred and binding agreement between the bride and groom in the presence of witnesses. It marks the beginning of a couple’s life together, spiritually and legally in Islam.
As part of the religious celebration, the bride recites a special du'a (supplication) upon completing the recitation of the entire Quran.
When will it take place ? 27.06.25 at 1 P.M.
How long does the celebration last ? Approximatively 2-3 Hours
Where will it be held ? At the bride’s family home
Who is invited ? Both men and women are welcome to attend.
What’s the dress code ? This is a religious Islamic ceremony — women are encouraged to dress simply, with little or no makeup. An abaya or modest outfit is appropriate. Men can wear a simple boubou or traditional attire.
Yiwordou Amaria
The Henna washing ceremony
This intimate ceremony takes place before the bride is brought to her marital home.
In a symbolic gesture of blessing and transition, the bride’s grandmother gently washes the dried henna designs from her hands and feet using a special basin filled with water and henna.

The New Beginning
The bride is joyfully escorted by her bridesmaids in a festive car procession through the city.
Upon arrival, the groom’s family must offer a symbolic amount of money before she steps out.
This playful tradition celebrates her welcome into the marital home with joy and laughter.

The Unveiling Ceremony
Throughout the wedding, the bride’s face remains hidden from the groom’s family. During the unveiling, she appears beautifully dressed and is revealed for the first time in front of her mother-in-law, surrounded by both families. Amid joyful ululations (youyous), the mother-in-law gives the bride a nick name symbolizing her full welcome into the family.

The Groom’s Celebration Ride
Before joining his bride at their new home, the groom parades through the city on horseback, accompanied by his friends in a festive procession.
This joyful ride is a way to honor and celebrate him.
Upon arrival at the marital home, he dances with his family, in-laws, and friends in a lively, shared celebration of unity and joy.

The Face Reveal Celebration
In this intimate celebration, the groom finally discovers his bride’s face in a private setting, surrounded only by their close friends.
Before the veil is lifted, he must playfully offer money — a symbolic gesture adding charm and laughter to the moment.
The unveiling is followed by a small celebration filled with joy, music, and the warmth of friendship.
